Hey there cuz. It's not an anitque. It's an ancient relic. it's 1149 years old. That's more than a thousand years to you and me. The fun part of Roadshow where they tell you what they think something would fetch would be moot for this book. It's completely priceless and not for sale. There is no number. It's been in my family since 860 AD. And it was pointed out that my family name is etched in the silver cross on the cover. Plus I don't have it. It's in a secure, undescloded location somewhere in Armenia. I have no desire to see it moved.
I am just marvelling. One of the general facts of being American is being cut off from one's history. All my various family lines suffer from immigrant disruption. To have a direct familial connection to 86o A.D. is a treasure. I'm glad you had a chance to go see it, be with your family, and sit among your ancestors.
Wow! Take good care of it ! You might want to show it on Antiques Roadshow some day.
ReplyDeleteDoes it have family names written in?
